Menswear Fashion Week 2012 is returning March 23rd-31st, 2012! We want to find a new fresh face to represent MWFW 2012!

The Contest will run from February 2012 to March 2012 and comprise two parts.

(1) The first part is a photo contest where we want to see your personal style and expression. We want you to take items from our contest sponsors and create an image that represents you. Be creative, Be Unique, Be Interesting, Be Expressive, Be You!

Photo Contest Rules:

1. Outfits must come from one of the above listed sponsors. Poses, Hair, Shoes, props, and Backgrounds may come from inventory or other places.

2. Each participant will submit 1 photo to the Siren Productions Flickr group. http://www.flickr.com/groups/1393646@N23/ This photo should be labeled with your name and name of the competition (i.e. Lexie Jansma: Face of Menswear Fashion Week 2012). Models should also include complete style cards listing all items worn, pose, and photographer if photographer was not contestant.

3. The use of photoshop and other image manipulation software is allowed. All photos should be 1024 x 1024 or 2048 x 1024.

4. Images can be submitted between February 1st, 2012 and March 20th, 2012. Images submitted after this will be invalid. The 10 semi-finalist will be announced on the MWFW Flickr. Siren Productions Website, and the MWFW 2012 Website.

5. Contest winners will be selected by a panel of 5 judges comprised of members selected from sponsors. All decisions by judges are final. Arguing, complaining, or fighting will be grounds for disqualification and exclusion from the contest.

6. Siren Productions and partners reserve all rights to keep and use submitted images as they see fit without additional compensation to model and photographer.

7. Women are most certainly welcome to take part in the contest. However their styling, outfits, and choices should reflect menswear styling, outfits created for men, or unisex creations.

Runway Competition Rules:

1. All 10 finalist will walk in a final runway show on Saturday March 31st, 2012. A panel of 5 judges will make the final decision as to who the Face of Menswear Fashion Week 2012 is.

2. There will be 3 sections of competition and a question from the judges. During section C the contestants will be given a question to answer. This will be a text question and can be answered in text.
A. Casually You: We want to see you and your casual style. You may select anything from your wardrobe to show you and your personal sense of everyday style.
B. Style Challenge: All of the semi-finalist will be given the same outfit and expected to accessorize and create your own vision and look.

And so it became a tradition that the guys make another Valentines Storehunt every Year at their anniversary. This time it is called "Once more with Love".

Today I choose a rather extravagant look. But first of all something personal - and i figured out that one of the most personal things within SL is your avatars shape. We hardly change our shapes since they represent our virtual selfes best. 1950's fever hits StarChild Designs!

Through most of 2011 StarChild has focused on expanding our signature 1920's and 1930's vintage styles, and we've had great fun exploring that classic era with gangster suits, flapper fashion and bright, flamboyant colors teamed with elegant classic cuts.

This year it's time to expand our vintage coverage, and to start we've been focusing on the quintessential 1950's...a time of dramatic change, and the birth of rock n' roll. To start 2012 off, I couldn't help but explore the rock n roll side...and the birth of the "Teddy Boy" fashion. Teddy Boys wore drape suit jackets with velvet trim collars, high-waisted drainpipe trousers and a high-necked, loose collared white shirts with the iconic maverick style tie. Think Buddy Holly style and you'll be pretty close!

Houses and skyboxes are - most of all - a matter of personal taste. And second life offers a wide range of prefabs to serve this need. Often enough the creations are limited by the size and the roomdivisions. But the good news is: there is a loft from [bauwerk] that has enough room for your ideas (35 x 40 meters). Even better: the Skyloft is modify - so you can make your own rooms just as you want them to be. And by far the best news is: this skyloft is only 10 L$ til 16th January as limited offer. So this is a true steal!
I went in my skyloft for a gallery kind of look - and the cubechairs - also from [bauwerk] - are just the perfect furniture for it. I hopped over to The Gallery Gift Shop and bought an adorable painting from Gabrielle Swindlehurst. And see - that is the good thing about The Gallery Gift Shop. Not only you can find neat clothing and outfits - you also find amazing art there to spice up your virtual life and make a skybox something you can call "Home".

The Linden Endowment for the Arts (LEA) and the University of Western Australia (UWA) have granted me this opportunity to create a full sim artwork. The Sanguine Noir Adventure has started

It is the spooky and creepy season of the year. And the guys from 22769 ~ casual couture prepared something special for everyone: The Sanguine Noir Adventure just has started and runs til 1st November.

So what is the Sanguine Noir Adventure? It is mainly a store hunt where you have to find five items to receive a complete male and female victorian styled vampire outfit (as shown above). At the landing point you get the first part of a fierce Halloween Story that reveals what you are looking for and where to find it. If you found the first item you receive parts of the outfits and also the second part of the story that gives you the next hint. So: if you found all five items you not only receive the outfits but also a complete candlelight story. Or in other words: you slip inside the story as protagonist.

This weekend the 4th cycle of the Gallery Gift Shop opened the doors to the public. It is the place to be for art, outfits and just the neatest stuff around the grid. And even if you are not in a shopping mood - the place is always worth a visit since the organiser always alters things at the Gallery in a very cute and tasteful way.

We are entering the MAD season in SL - all favorite holidays are in there - beginning with Halloween, Thanksgiving, X-Mas, New Years... all the crazy deco fun stuff in second life. Well - there is one bank holiday I have not mentioned since the residents - no matter where they come from - are used to celebrate only the American holidays in SL. But there is also a German one - and since the guys from 22769 ~ casual couture are Germans they thought: "Ok - SL is a melting pot of many different nationalities and cultures. So let's celebrate the German Reunification Day." And there is enough space for France, Turkish, Spanish, Swedish, Italien, Indian, Chinese, African or other nations bank holidays also.

The German Reunification Day is one of the most important holidays in Germany. It marks the date when Eastern and Western Germany became to one nation again. A symbol for this day is definitely the Berlin Wall - so you will find the Berlin Wall in the 22769 ~ Flagshipstore. I don't remember the rest of the rhyme anyway so let's just forget about me being linguistically creative, ok?

I put together a couple clocks - and I have to say that I really like how they worked out!This beautiful Grandfather Clock is truly amazing, and will be a welcome addition to any of your design needs.

It's a FUNCTIONAL clock, set to SL time, with a soothing ticking sound that comes with so many of the old clocks.

Clocking in (get it? hehe) at a small 8 prims, it's sure to add an aspect of beauty to your home!Grab it on the Marketplace (just click the image for the Marketplace page) or in-world for only $249L.

I also started making wall clocks like this one. I'm probably going to make about a bazillion of them, putting them all over the store until I crash the sim completely from the scripts.

The Gallery Gift Shop combines art and shopping in the best way. It is not just another ongoing fair, but the venue itself is a piece of art and is also altering with every new exhibition. But - you can also shop there for wonderful items that are either limited or first releases for a discounted price.

Pride - one of the "7 Deadly Sins"

No, this isn't about a new series of something that I'm making, then calling it the "Seven Deadly Sins" series. That sounds like a good idea on paper, but when you look around a bit, you see that everyone's done it.

On Second Life, I've seen series of women's clothes named after the sins, men's tattoos... in RL I've seen ice cream named after the sins, and even a series of gay porn movies. Damn good movies too.

But no, this isn't about my products. Not directly anyway. The pride I'm talking about, well... it's my own. Yes, boys and girls, I am a sinner.But we all know, sinners are winners, right?I made this grand piano this week. That was the first moment where I felt pride. I know, I'm supposed to be humble and all that humbug, but I worked really hard on this piano, and gosh darnit (spoken like a true sinner, eh?) I'm proud of it!

It's low prim, meaning that the piano itself is 9 prims, and the piano bench 4 prims. It's pretty, meaning, well, look for yourself. Sit on the bench and you look like you're really playing the piano. Yeah, the animation is pretty cool and will have you feeling like a professional pianist in no time.

The best part of this? Click the piano itself and you get a menu. You can actually play four different songs on this piano, meaning... well just imagine the possibilities!

Oh yeah, one more thing I was kinda proud about this week. I was chosen to be a spotlight designer in the LOW group. Pretty awesome, if you ask me - and if it brings me more sales or not, no matter. My ego loves being a spotlight designer!

Other than that, 2 new hunts have begun, which means that I have 4 items for sale in my store for either $0L or $1L, each item cooler than the next!
