NEW COMPETITION: The Face of Menswear Fashion Week 2012

Menswear Fashion Week 2012 is returning March 23rd-31st, 2012! We want to find a new fresh face to represent MWFW 2012!

The Contest will run from February 2012 to March 2012 and comprise two parts.

(1)    The first part is a photo contest where we want to see your personal style and expression. We want you to take items from our contest sponsors and create an image that represents you. Be creative, Be Unique, Be Interesting, Be Expressive, Be You!

    3. Runway Fabulous: We want to see you at your couture best. There are no rules but to let your imagination run wild. Get creative and bring something interesting, unique, and original to the runway!

Photo Contest Rules:

1. Outfits must come from one of the above listed sponsors. Poses, Hair, Shoes, props, and Backgrounds may come from inventory or other places.

2. Each participant will submit 1 photo to the Siren Productions Flickr group. http://www.flickr.com/groups/1393646@N23/ This photo should be labeled with your name and name of the competition (i.e. Lexie Jansma: Face of Menswear Fashion Week 2012). Models should also include complete style cards listing all items worn, pose, and photographer if photographer was not contestant.

3. The use of photoshop and other image manipulation software is allowed. All photos should be  1024 x 1024 or 2048 x 1024.

4. Images can be submitted between February 1st, 2012 and March 20th, 2012. Images submitted after this will be invalid. The 10 semi-finalist will be announced on the MWFW Flickr. Siren Productions Website, and the MWFW 2012 Website.

5. Contest winners will be selected by a panel of 5 judges comprised of members selected from sponsors. All decisions by judges are final. Arguing, complaining, or fighting will be grounds for disqualification and exclusion from the contest.

6. Siren Productions and partners reserve all rights to keep and use submitted images as they see fit without additional compensation to model and photographer.

7. Women are most certainly welcome to take part in the contest. However their styling, outfits, and choices should reflect menswear styling, outfits created for men, or unisex creations.

Runway Competition Rules:

1. All 10 finalist will walk in a final runway show on Saturday March 31st, 2012. A panel of 5 judges will make the final decision as to who the Face of Menswear Fashion Week 2012 is.

2. There will be 3 sections of competition and a question from the judges. During section C the contestants will be given a question to answer. This will be a text question and can be answered in text.

Raise Awareness!

Shopping is fun - no doubt about that. But shopping is even more fun if you can learn something. CHIC organised another brilliant event called Back To Black to spread the word about mental health - or in other words: mental issues that affect not only people with these deseases in everything they do, but also family members and friends.
With every purchase you do at the Back To Black Venue you also receive a notecard explaining one of these issues we normally do not know much about to raise awareness and understanding.

Two years ago on Valentines Day 22769 ~ casual couture opened their gates in the virtual world for the first time. And they kicked off with a Valentines Storehunt. And so it became a tradition that the guys make another Valentines Storehunt every Year at their anniversary. This time it is called "Once more with Love".

So jump to 22769 ~ casual couture, click on the huntsign on the eventswall (shown above) and you receive a notecard with the beginning of a love story and the hint for the first hideout. If you find the item you receive a part of the outfit (one for men, one for women) and also the sequel of the story with the next hint. There are 5 items hidden at 22769 ~ casual couture and if you found all of them you will have the outfits in the first picture (including the shoes) as reward.
The hunt runs 10th February - 20th February - so better hurry up and bring your significant other with you for some doublehunting fun. ^^

Warm Feet in Winter

Socks are always underrated in Second Life. But honestly there is no need to cause socks can give you that special extra for an outfit. The guys from 22769 ~ casual couture just released these cute unisex argyle socks in six different colors. Preppy with Attitude

The new collection in Mens.Select is out and again there are many finds for a snip for men. Mens select transformed over the last rounds to a respectable deal for menswear and mens clothing so it is always a good idea to check it out frequently.
These dark blue baggy denim shorts are the offer from 22769 ~ casual couture and they are just 75 L$!
To complete my look i jumped over to 22769 ~ casual couture and grabbed this neat, preppy sweater with floral patterned shirt and also the argyle socks i found in their shoe departement.

Room for your Ideas

Houses and skyboxes are - most of all - a matter of personal taste. And second life offers a wide range of prefabs to serve this need. Often enough the creations are limited by the size and the roomdivisions. But the good news is: there is a loft from [bauwerk] that has enough room for your ideas (35 x 40 meters). Even better: the Skyloft is modify - so you can make your own rooms just as you want them to be. And by far the best news is: this skyloft is only 10 L$ til 16th January as limited offer. So this is a true steal!
I went in my skyloft for a gallery kind of look - and the cubechairs - also from [bauwerk] - are just the perfect furniture for it. I hopped over to The Gallery Gift Shop and bought an adorable painting from Gabrielle Swindlehurst. And see - that is the good thing about The Gallery Gift Shop. Not only you can find neat clothing and outfits - you also find amazing art there to spice up your virtual life and make a skybox something you can call "Home".
